MNO TALKBACK – POLL RESULTS AND NEW QUESTION ADDED
Just to wrap things up for an otherwise uneventful start to the new business week then I want to finish with the last poll that ran on the MNO TalkBack page and replace it with a new question. As always, thank you to all the readers who voted. So, the subject of the question was communication, something that on one hand is so vital for success in the HYIP industry yet on the other hand is so often overlooked by investors, was the basis of the poll. It surprises me that in a virtual and totally online business the number of people who only start talking and asking questions about what happens their money only after there are problems which cannot be fixed. I’m speaking both as a blogger and a monitor here, you just wouldn’t believe the mails I’ve gotten from people saying they “think” they were scammed by an admin days or sometimes even weeks after clear and explicit warnings against joining were posted on my site. And it’s not as if I’m the only source of information out there for you on this either, there are plenty of online discussion forums covering this if you take the time to read and ask questions.
So it was kind of in the spirit of getting people talking to each other then that I posed the question about readers, those who need to anyway, like to communicate with MNO if and when they have something to share or ask. The exact question was as follows: What is your preferred way of contacting MNO?
There isn’t really any right or wrong answers here of course, all the submissions ultimately end up with me anyway. And to be honest I kind of already knew what the results would be in advance, after all, I’m the one who receives all of your enquiries. The idea of the poll was simply to share this information with readers, and if you favour one method over the other it’s just to let you know that there are always alternatives.
The clear winner here was those who voted for the option “Writing directly to the email address”. This was the answer given by 56% of the voters, and I think looking at my own archives a fairly accurate reflection of the readership overall. Next with a fairly substantial 33% of the vote was the option of “Chatting on Telegram @mnoblog”. Some people might find that number surprising given how new, relatively speaking anyway compared the more established channels Telegram is, but it’s a sign of the evolving technology that surrounds us nowadays. I can also tell you, and this is something most readers won’t be aware of, is that I get quite a lot of Telegram chatter from HYIP admins who seem to favour it. So it’s probably worth your while having an account there since it’s free anyway and fast becoming an essential online tool, and not just for the HYIP industry. The remaining 11% of the vote went to those who say they prefer to contact me “Via the MNO Contact form”. Essentially this is the same thing as writing directly to my e-mail address, as all messages submitted through the form are dropped into the same inbox in real time as those mailed to me directly. I guess some people just like the convenience of the contact form if they happen to be on the MNO website at the time their question arises. Lastly by the way there was a fourth option in the poll, though it didn’t receive any votes. 0% took the option “Can’t say as never used any of these” but then that’s hardly surprising as anyone who would say that probably isn’t going to be voting in the polls anyway.
So, moving on then to the next question, if 2018 is going to be remembered for anything other than just being a below average year for the HYIP industry then it’s going to be the massive changes in the payment processor sector. Something that made global headlines in the mainstream media of course was the volatility in BitCoin. From an almost infinitely expanding bubble that hit a rate of more that $20,000 per BTC (remember it was only a couple of cents just a few short years before) this had to burst at some point. It did so in spectacular style, and not in the good sense of that expression, around the Christmas and New Year holidays. Eventually things stabilised and there aren’t really any big or unexpected surprises with BitCoin at the moment, but it was an important if somewhat costly lesson for a lot of people and perhaps contributed to a lot of regular admins cautiously stepping back from the industry and delaying any plans they might have had for another season.
Then of course there was the seizure of Payza by US federal authorities. Clearly learning nothing from the fate of LibertyReserve and its owners, the family (two brothers actually) who ran Payza stupidly and inexplicably decided to ignore repeated warnings from the authorities that this was going to happen unless they ceased operations. Sure, there was a lot of money involved, I just don’t know what you think you can spend it on in prison. A US federal penitentiary at that! So, one brother was arrested and isn’t expecting to see daylight again for decades, while the other one lives out the rest of his days in permanent hiding. Was it worth it?
Someone who did learn something from the experience of others however was the owner of AdvCash. It doesn’t benefit the HYIP industry as such, but he decided the old saying “discretion is the better part of valour” is true when opting to keep his own rear end of prison and withdraw all financial services to HYIP websites. It’s a lucrative business and a multi million dollar industry for sure, especially now for any business looking to fill the gap left by Payza. But as the owners of Payza (and LibertyReserve before them) will tell you, if you’re going to do anything sketchy then you’d best not do it with US money or move so much as one single dollar in or out of accounts held within US borders. And not living in the US was no protection for them either, they’ve now swapped an easy life in Canada and Panama respectively for the somewhat more grim surroundings of a prison cell.
With all that in mind and the shifting demographic in the relationship between HYIP websites and their payment methods, I’d like to ask what channel readers currently favour. The question is pretty simple and straight forward I think, and will run as follows: What is your preferred method of investing in HYIPs?
